The first thing that you notice on the men’s height and weight chart, besides the colors, are the curves, showing that men are gradually gaining weight until their early 50’s. After that, the average weight for men gradually declines. This is nature – natural and healthy.

The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) can make the average weight become a higher number by being tricky.
They can include all the super-obese people into the arithmetic. There are people out there who weigh 700 pounds or more, and they can skew the average.
My tables do the better thing, by using the MEDIAN result, and telling you it’s AVERAGE.
The Politics of Obesity
The reason that I think there is politics, is because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) wants people to worry about an overweight and obesity epidemic.
They want to show high levels of
By the way, this isn’t unique to obesity. Any disease that gets a lot of mainstream TV coverage, and millions raised by organized fundraising, has the same incentives to turn their disease into an epidemic.
To prove my point, I’m sure you’ve heard of the statistic that over 50% of the population is overweight. But you probably haven’t heard that being so-called overweight in your 50’s is the healthiest. Here’s the articles that proves it:-
What about weight loss and dieting?
I would encourage you to use my body mass index
On the topic of dieting, it is WELL KNOWN that diets only work temporarily. Here is a chart of my own diet from 1999 to 2002.
You can see there is rapid weight loss, followed by gradual weight gain. Then the same pattern repeated when I did another successful diet in 2012, and regained in 2014.
My point. There are times in your life when you MUST diet. It happens for health reasons or wanting love and romance.
During those times, go for it, enjoy the feeling of success and achievement and empowerment. And when you gain weight

What is the average weight for men according to physique?
There are a few physique competitors that weigh around 200 pounds on stage. As a matter of fact, if you actually knew how much the typical physique competitors and body builders weigh on stage, you would be really surprised to know how light most of them actually tend to be.
Indeed, body builders look bigger because they have a lean body and high muscle mass, but their body weight is actually pretty low, believe it or not.

How else can you assess if you are within a healthy weight range?
A healthy body weight is not really based just on your height, weight, age, ethnicity and gender, it is also related to the amount of body fat you have compared to muscle.
Furthermore, having a large waist circumference, or a lot of abdominal fat, can have increased risk factors for some health conditions.
If you want to lose weight it is important to work on fat loss, rather than fat and muscle loss, especially as you get older. In addition, if you are really keen you can see the formula to work out your body fat percentage HERE.
