Sweat yourself skinny!? I wonder if this works!

“Do saunas work?”
“This seems so ridiculous”

You can lose weight in a sauna, but you are not building any muscle whatsoever. You aren’t burning a significantly raised rate of calories and you’re really just only losing water weight. In addition, not replacing the water you are swearing out can actually make it quite a bit harder for your body to lose weight.

Below you will find answers to your questions about sauna weight loss…

Hector Hector
I wanna get one.

Brittany Brittany
..Why do you want a sauna for? Where are you even going to put it?..

Hector Hector
Sauna weight loss! And I don’t know, maybe in the basement, in my bedroom, or outside, or something…

Saunas can make you lose weight. But it’s making you lose water weight, and soon as you eat or drink something, you will gain it all back.. It’s not permanent at all. It is really relaxing though.

“Water weight loss?.. That’s it.”

Sitting in a sauna will definitely lead to weight loss because of sweating. You will see a change on the scale upon leaving the sauna since you have lost some water weight. Not practicing proper hydration while you’re in one of these hotboxes actually makes it tougher for your body to lose pounds permanently, as hydration is an essential component in shedding extra weight.

When I exercise, I wear all black. It’s like I’m going to a funeral… For my fat.

Nice one, Tyler! After crashing weddings became boring, I tried crashing a funeral. They asked me to sing a song. I could only think of, three blind mice.

“Burning calories in a sauna”

Increasing your body heat will definitely help you burn extra calories. The heat will cause your body to raise it’s metabolic rate by up to 20%. This jolt to your metabolism will allow you to continue to burn calories for up to several hours. The increase in temperature forces your heart to beat at least 30% faster, which means that your body has to burn more calories for energy.

“Sorry to
burst your bubble…”

The truth is… You are much better off with real exercises. You wouldn’t want to do sauna weight loss. There is no problem with joining a friend or family member who make sitting in a hotbox a fundamental part of their regular workout time.

As a matter of fact, there are some health advantages to be gained from sauna weight loss. By the way, make sure that your main purpose is not exclusively to lose weight – the calories burned in those sitting sessions are not considerable, you are not scorching fat and you are not burning any muscle. Keep that in mind.

“A little bit of sauna detox”

Many, many people today use saunas to help detoxify their body. Going into a sauna helps open up your pores giving your skin a beautiful shine, more effective than a nice hot bubble bath. The elimination of toxins such as heavy metals, help you burn more fat effectively because they aren’t hindering your metabolism any longer.

Personally, I don’t believe sweat contains toxins. But if I drink coca cola, my sweat becomes malodorous. (true story)

“The warning signs”

Sweating way too much can lead to dangerous dehydration, even death. Your heart is a pump of fluid (blood). A pump that runs out of fluid, quits. I’ve seen people so dehydrated, that their veins are completely empty, even the final veins that bring blood into the heart. Those people died.

To keep yourself hydrated as much as possible, I suggest you drink two to four glasses of water after spending your time in the sauna. I also advics sauna users to only stay in the sauna for only 15 to 20 minutes at a time and then to head for the door because I guarantee you will probably won’t feel too well.

See, Hector, the sauna weight loss is not permanent. Do you still want a sauna now?…

Hector Hector
Yes, as a matter of fact, I still do.
