Many foods help the body to burn fat.  Furthermore, some diets concentrate on foods that burn fat.  Foods that burn fat are the basis of The Fat Flush Diet.  The effects of the fat flush diet are :-

  •  Increases metabolism
  • Cleanse and supports the liver
  • Detoxes and flushes your system
  • Aids with weight loss.

The Fat Flush Diet

 
foods that burn fatThe fat flush diet plan is based on the theory that the right combination of foods combined with a low-carb diet and restricted calorie intake will result in weight loss.

In short, detoxification of the liver is the main idea behind the fat flush diet. The theory is that the combination of foods and eating plan will result in an increase in metabolic rate.

The Fat Flush Diet, (or foods that burn fat) allows specific foods and drinks. Furthermore, the fat flush diet has three phases:-

  • Firstly Phase 1: The first phase is a two week quick start that limits daily calories to 1100 to 1200.
  • Secondly, Phase 2: Increases the daily calorie intake to 1500. You stay on Phase 2 until you are at your target weight.
  • Finally, Phase 3: The Fat Flush diet changes to a ‘lifetime eating plan’ with more dairy products and carbohydrates.

Any ‘diet’ that reduces calories and adds an exercise regime is going to result in initial weight loss.

Flax seed oil contains over 50% of omega-3 alpha linolenic acid and it is well known now that healthy fats actually aid weight loss.

Furthermore, flax seed oil helps increase feelings of satiety (fullness) and slows down digestion. Indeed, early studies in rats suggest that flaxseed oil may help prevent insulin resistance, this leads to unstable blood sugars and possibly diabetes.

  • One apple, orange, nectarine or peach
  • Half a grapefruit
  • Two plums
  • Six strawberries
  • Ten cherries
  • One cup of berries

The Fat Flush diet allows two portions of fruit daily.

Proteins on the Fat Flush Diet

 
There is a lot of medical research that suggests high-protein diets are beneficial to weight loss. In addition, we have some information and references about high-protein food and diet here.

Recommended lean proteins include:-

  • Fish
  • Lean beef, veal or lamb
  • Skinless chicken or turkey
  • Up to two eggs per day

What to Drink on the Fat Flush Diet?

Dieters must drink eight glasses of cranberry water (cranberry juice and water mixture) every day.

This is a key element for cleansing the body. The ‘long life cocktail’ is to be consumed twice a day. The cranberry and water juice was developed by a holistic nutritionist. The nutritionist states that the cranberry water and flax seed mixture increases elimination and helps balance hormones.

One ‘cheat’ is allowed per day: 1 cup of organic coffee.

According to a holistic nutritionist, the following herbs can be used freely because they help boost metabolism:-

Phase one does not allow:-

  • Soda
  • Alcohol
  • Aspartame (Sweeteners)
  • Sugar
  • Yeast-related vinegar

  • Grains, bread and cereal
  • Starchy vegetables
  • Dairy products

“Additions”

During Phase 2 of the Fat Flush Diet two servings of carbohydrates are allowed. For example, whole grain bread, sweet potato, peas, carrots and butternut or acorn squash.

In Phase 3, more carb choices are added. For example, brown rice, beans, potatoes, corn, whole grain pasta and dairy products (yogurt, cheese). In addition, a limited amount of salt is added.
