Anti Aging Diets: Look and feel Younger Tips

November 13, 2015 By Dr. Halls

Anti aging diet foods are full of antioxidants, like:-

anti aging diet veggies

  • grapes
  • blueberries
  • nuts
  • dark green vegetables such as kale and spinach
  • sweet potatoes and orange vegetables
  • tea and green tea
  • Whole grain
  • beans
  • fish

Such ‘super foods’ prevent inflammation and cellular damage by destroying free radicals in the body. Free radicals are unstable oxygen molecules produced by such things as stress, pesticides and sun.

So, free radicals cause collagen breakdown in skin cells, therefore leading to wrinkles.  Inflammation is the body’s reaction to free radicals. Long-term inflammation in the body is connected with a poor immune systems as well as a higher risk of some cancers and chronic diseases.

You usually say Hype. But these foods look good for you.

“What to put on your plate”

Colorful fruits and veggies are needed on your plate. The antioxidants in vibrant fruit and vegetables, such as:-

  • leafy greens
  • deep red tomatoes
  • blueberries
  • carrots

help prevent unstable molecules from dangerously damaging healthy cells. So at every meal you have, fill about half your plate with these types of foods. Your intention is five to nine servings per day in the course of your anti aging diet.

A bit about Antioxidants and the anti aging Diet

These include three specific anti aging diet antioxidants:-

  • Vitamin C
  • Zinc
  • Beta-carotene

The above three nutrients help protect your vision from macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness after the age of 64. If you previously have macular degeneration, eating foods with these types of nutrients may slow the progression.

Resveratrol is a compelling antioxidant in grapes and red wine.  Resveratol may help reduce your chances of having cancer, heart disease, and premature aging.

Anti aging diet antioxidants like vitamin C can even help your skin appear younger-looking. One study linked eating lots of yellow and green veggies to fewer wrinkles.

It actually is. I’m surprised. Now what are some foods to avoid?!

Jessica Jessica
Pretty much just sugars, salts…. Here let me see…

Foods to Avoid

“Foods to avoid”

Here are some foods to avoid during your anti aging diet.

Processed foods:

Consumption of artificial ingredients and additives wreaks havoc on the immune system.

Sugar:

This is linked to a range of illnesses including heart disease, autoimmune diseases and diabetes. Sugar in all forms should be limited as much as possible. Use the natural alternative stevia instead when cooking.

Salt:

All salts contribute to high blood pressure and heart disease, so use sparingly and not too often. Opt for sea salt as table salt involves anti-caking agents.

Man-made fats:

Trans fats, found in packaged foods and fried fast food, increase the risk of heart disease. The best fats to eat are cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil, seed and nut oils, and moderate amounts of coconut oil.
