Ingot Shapes and Animal Hides as Flow Connection Symbols
Hide your ingots. Why did metal ingots have this shape (image A) in ancient times? I think it's because they liked the symbolic meaning of the animal hide. That's a hypothesis. Why is the animal hide a symbol (image B)? I think because it has paws.
Just like humans in symbolism use arms and legs to make connections from the core, to- or from- side flows of energy outside the torus. Image F and others like it, have paws making connections. Image E and image D from Cypress are more likely to mean that hide shape, and making connections to hands.
Image N is the same idea symbolically, a horizontal flow (child animal) at the horizontal plane of a head-torus symbol, and it's paws are making "side loop" connections to the body torus below it. Some of my pottery and teapot posts recently have had handles making side loops too.
Chakras and equivalent linear tori-in-a-line from Africa, East Asia and Roman, (G, H I). Only the African uses this hide shape, but I think if I keep looking, it should be in other places.
Image M and S use that shape in the shield symbol, which is a torus symbol.
By now you've noticed the somewhat "X" shape of crossing diagonal flows, in most of the examples. The "X" is considered the more divine, the bidirectional flow communication to- and from- higher density and God. That is, more divine compared to a side flow going straight up the side. So the hide shape can be considered a variation of X, and can be part of physics diagrams and part of religions.
Indus valley symbol C, I've discarded my old ideas. Now I see a half-circle portal symbol, and above that I see an animal hide symbol, acting equivalently to everything above. The bull's head is always vertically aligned above that hide.
Image R is a modern-made wood cut. This symbol has not been forgotten.
