Scorpion Tail Loop Backs and Side Loops
Scorpion tail "loop back"s and "side loop"s. The front claws are the inflow side, the scorpion's tail is the outflow. I had no explanation for the curl of the tail until today when I thought about loop backs, and sure enough, those scorpion tails are going past a barrier and then curling back. That's my reason for this post, I finally have a reason for using a scorpion in symbolism. My scorpion collection was fairly aimless, but now I can start collecting them again with flow loops in mind. https://ca.pinterest.com/stevenbhalls/scorpion/
Image A is just an addon to my previous post about offering tables. The outer side flow symbols (those slender containers) are marked as downward flow by the grapes, and upward flow by the pomegranate. The thigh hindleg is horizontal flow, inflow on the slender part with bent knee, outflow on the thicker side on the left. I think the change from thin to thick is an attribute change from passing through the core. There is a central path "cup" shape with a cow head above it.
I have no idea about cow heads, so if anyone wants to look through examples and figure it out ahead of me, feel free. https://ca.pinterest.com/stevenbhalls/offering-table/ I had a quick look through my collection, it *might* be as simple as noticing the cow nose is pointing downward and is often on the same side as grapes. I think I'll need to expand my collection.
Summary. Who cares about learning obscure ancient symbols, one by one, bit by bit, step by step, the hard way. We had no chance with scorpions until learning the loop backs and side loops.
