The Shen Symbol as a Dimensional Portal
Shen symbol is a portal through a barrier. Forget any other guesses. As a portal symbol, it works every time when you are decoding, and you'll never go back.
I ran across some work of other decoders posts today, who I first encountered about six years ago. Back then, I didn't know better, but now I recognize their work is full of errors. Shen is one of them, but I try to resist being critical on other peoples timelines. If you want to disagree about my Shen explanation, you can do it here.
Image A, a bottom-center portal with two flails (indicate upward flow, like an Alpha). Below the bull/cow, the floor and the oval frame, represent the barrier around a torus. Even though you don't see a flow connection into the waist of the bull, presume it is there.
Image B, the Shen is sitting above a horizontal barrier with zigzag lines in it. Below the barrier is a torus with a djed for its central flow path and arms that lead to hands as side flow portals. A flow path goes upward into the waist of the scorpion. Normally the tail of a scorpion is it's outflow and it's front claws/hands are the inflow side. This one might be different because of the ankhs held by hands point outward.
Image C, is super easy. the Shen is the portal for the center flow path.
Image D depends on knowing that the horizontal arms show the horizontal plane, relative the person on the left. An offering platter is also a horizontal plane symbol. It's strange but true that the horizontal plane is often considered a barrier between realities, so the Shen is there to be a marker of a portal through that barrier.
Image E has a shen oritented to be a portal for horizontal flow. The flow direction is probably from left to right, and into some cartouches (which aren't name tags).
Image F. These shens are being portals for side flows. Those Was scepters running through the shens show the vertical path of those side flows. The wing poses often have a Shen with them (like image E), wings are barriers, but whatever is between wings, like the body of those people, is the gap in the barrier. With the beetle being the center flow path vertically, the side shens are for horizontal flows to go in and out from the beetle, which is representing the core of a torus.
Image G and H, the bottom-center portals below the beetle, show interchangable portal symbols with the same meaning. Flow goes from bottom portal to top portal (circles).
Image I, whatever bird feet are holding are portal symbols. The bring flow from side-bottom portals diagonally into the body of the bird. The bird tail brings center flow upward. https://ca.pinterest.com/stevenbhalls/shen/
That's the main message, Shens are portals.
If you want to relook at wings, noticing them serving as barriers, and spotting the portals that are like gaps in the barriers, help yourself here: https://ca.pinterest.com/stevenbhalls/wings-as-barrier/
I've posted about scorpions recently, how it's tail makes a loop-back. More are here: https://ca.pinterest.com/stevenbhalls/scorpion/
