Wavy Hair as Downward Flow Symbol
The wavy hair has curves, ( curves are a subject of several recent posts) and that's likely why it became a downward flow symbol, often from a head ( a portal torus symbol) going down to a body-torus ( the main torus symbol on the pictogram). The wavy hair is blowing toward the sails, as a hint the sails mean downward, that's my guess.
Image E has a loop of cloth making a loop-back from one side to the other side, but which is the downward side? I'm guessing it's the side with the wavy hair. BUT, in the links at the bottom, you can find plenty of confusing use, like hair blowing contrary to what I said above. Image C has a center flow person-symbol (bidirectional), the wavy hair means downward, the praying hands mean upward. Yes, I know the Magdalene interpretation too. A coded meaning about etheric energy flow can coexist.
Image H has a mix of wavy hair and snakes, and I think these are an earlier way to mark a "Sol" type portal. So the wavy hair isn't particularly "downward", more like outflow from the head. Later Sol symbols adopted spikes like image I.
