Scales, books, tablets, and other "one and two" patterns.

Scales, books, tablets, and other

Each "scale" of a balance usually has an opposite polarity, one up and the other down.

( up bird, down sword on image A).

They can be on opposite sides of the central flow path, or the scale can be on the downward/bidirectional side like image B, which also has an up arm holding a sword.

Books like C and D can be used in the same way.

D has an up pointy tower, and the book is on the down/bidirectional side.

(Books are also portal symbols, which is why image C has a person coming through the book at waist level.

Image E and F are the same kind of usage.

Image G.

The pointy leaf side is the up.

The lotus side (flower with little lines) is the down/bidirectional side, and it has the two ducks.

Image H is hard The side with two snakes has different density of snakes, The Horus curved-beak-bird has higher density.

The Thoth long-neck-bird with it's downward beak is a kind of loop-back, but so is Horus.

However, Horus seems to have higher density.

Some parts of image H have contradictory things happening that I do not yet understand.

But I've wondered for years about why this pictogram has a "one and two" layout.

Image I is easier with it's hand poses.

Image J has the brim of a cup on the one side, but the two side doesn't have clues that I recognize.

Image K has a cow with an up nose, and the other two cows are down noses.

Image L.

Breasts are portal symbols, and can be inflow or outflow, and branches are indeterminate direction, so image L gives no good clues.

I think maybe we're just supposed to assume that when two things are on a side, it could be the bidirectional side.
