The Green Man, Head Torus and Horizontal Outflows
Related to the Green Man, he was on a post from yesterday that equated his mouth outflows to the leafy outflow at the top of columns, and some comments ensued. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17VnNLaGU8/ I made these images for those comments, and now decided to share them in a fresh post here, because not many people read comments.
In symbolism, the head is a torus, and it often serves as a portal for the body-torus. As a head-torus, it has a horizontal plane that has inflows and outflows. The location of that horizontal plane on a head, varies. We just have to accept the diversity. Sometimes it uses the mouth, sometimes nose, eyes, and ears, and sometimes the headband. Flow symbols are diversely varied, and we just have to accept that diversity, as interchangably meaning the same thing.
Image C uses fire, A uses cloth, B uses people, birds and fish. E uses snakes, D and F use vegetation. You may not recognize G and H as the green man, but "giving names" to faces is a disaster for understanding symbolism. Instead recognize the horizontal plane outflows on G, H, I and K. Image J uses a tongue as a horizontal outflow that then goes downward, and it also has ear outflows. Image K has grape vines, grapes mark the flows as high density. K's ears also have outflows going up.
Image L, M and J have horizontal ear outflows and vertical path top-center outflows. Image N has ear inflow and mouth outflow. There is no "demon", you can put that idea in the trash. It is a different torus symbol sending outflows that connect to that ear as an inflow.
