CT Scan equipment and scanning technique
During the time period that the CT scan protocols were being developed and tested, all CT scans were performed with a PQ 2000 scanner from Picker. It was a spiral scanner, equipped with a ZAP-70 upgrade. It was installed in early 1994 and replaced in 2000. The principles and results are widely applicable to any CT scanner.
The contrast agent used for all enhanced scans, during the protocol development and testing, was Ultravist 300, from Bracco Diagnostics Inc. Other equivalent contrast agents could be substituted.
